Murad calls for completion of ongoing schemes on top priority

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah reviewing progress of Rs10 billion Karachi package directed the concerned authorities to complete the on-going schemes on top priority and finalize the required formalities on the schemes to be taken up this month.

This he said while presiding over meeting to review the progress of Karachi Package. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Dev) M. Waseem, Principal Secretary Naveed Kamran Baloch, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi, PD Karachi Package Niaz Soomro and others.

PD of the project Mr Niaz Soomro briefing the chief minister said that the scheme of rehabilitation of road from Do Talwar to Metropole Hotel via Teen Talwar Clifton launched at Rs110 million in August 2016. Presently its physical progress is 77percent and it would be completed in December, 2016.

The Road from Ch. Khaliq-uz-Zaman Intersection to Shaheen Complex via PIDC Chowk launched for Rs9.9 million in Sept 2016 has progress of 55 percent and it would be completed by January 2017.

Rehabilitation of road from Metropole to Zainab Market Roundabout of Rs3.09 million has 80 percent progress and to be completed in January 2018. Improvement of footpath both sides and allied work from Shaheen Complex to Tower launched for Rs5.5 million has 65 percent progress and it would be completed by December 2016.

Repair and maintenance of road/patch work, including repair of footpath around Bin Qasim Park of Rs9.7 million has 60 percent progress and would be completed in January 2017.
