NAB arrests accused in Rs47.11 million scam

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tuesday arrested Abdul Basit of Islamic Investment Company Limited who cheated public in the garb of Islamic mode of business as the NAB has received Rs47.11 million claims so far against the accused.

During the course of inquiry it was revealed that the accused person lured general public to invest their hard earned money in their fake company with the name of Islamic Investment Company Ltd on promising that they would be paid huge profit on their investment.

The accused after few months not only stopped paying profits but also refused to pay back original invested money of innocent people and disappeared from the scene. The NAB received claims up to Rs47.11 million against accused so far.

It is worth mentioning here that, Zeeshan Firdoos, Qazi Muhammad Abu Bakar and Qazi Muhammad Naeem of Islamic Investment (Pvt) Ltd had already been arrested and presently in judicial lock-up, further arrests are on card.

A reference against the accused persons had already been filed in the Accountability Court.
