NAB arrests EDO Faisalabad, got physical remand in Rs 11.24m scam

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau, Lahore, has arrested Abdul Ghafoor, who is allegedly involved in misappropriation of Rs 11.24 million in Sheikupura.

According to a press release issued by the spokesperson of NAB, the suspect was arrested on the information collected from Rai Muhammad Khan, a contractor and chairman of Haq Bahu Citizen Community Board, Sheikhupura, who was already arrested by NAB a few days ago.

The Accountability Bureau further claimed that Abdul Ghafoor was working as EDO Community Development, Sheikhupura, and release huge payment of Rs11.24m on the basis of issuing fake completion certificates of two schemes related to construction of PCC roads in District Sheikhupura during the fiscal year of 2014-2015.

NAB investigation team has presented him before the accountability court on Friday and got his physical remand for further investigation.
