NAB asks DCO to halt sale, transfer of Customs Appraiser’s property

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab has asked deputy commissioner Lahore to ban all kind of transfers and sale of land and property belonging to Customs Appraiser Iftikhar Cheema.

Sources told Customs Today that NAB has sent details of all the belongings and properties of the Customs Appraiser and his wife to the deputy commissioner to halt sale and transfers.

As per details the Appraiser has 14 kanals of land in district Charar Cantonment area while his wife has twelve kanals of land in her name at the Ajwadiya Pur.

The sources said that NAB urged the DCO to ban all kind of sale and transfers of his and her wife’s property and report him by July 7. NAB arrested the Principal Appraiser Customs from for buying assets, illegally.

The accused has 14 kanal, nine marla land near DHA Lahore, one kanal plot in Johar Town and 12 kanal 10 marla land near Johar Town etc besides millions of rupees in bank accounts.

The NAB launched inquiries against the accused in 2016 against a complaint received through intelligence sources.

After collecting evidence against the accused, the NAB arrested him and presented him before the accountability court for acquiring physical remand which was awarded till June 8.
