NAB KPK expresses concerns over loopholes in NADRA operations

PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Director General has expressed concern over leakages and loopholes in the operations of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Peshawar.

NADRA authorities were asked to give a detailed presentation on overall organizational structure, rules, regulations, and functions with specific emphasis on the procedure of issuance of CNICs to non-nationals under Prevention Regime of NAO, 1999.

Director-General NADRA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gohar Ahmed Khan gave a detailed presentation. He was accompanied by Directors/Officer of various wings / cells of NADRA.

DG NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahzad Saleem lauded NADRA and its functions, however he pointed out to plug in various loopholes in the system, so that common citizen are facilitated in true letter and spirit i.e. attestation of CNICs process, issues related to blocked / suspected CNICs, expedition of cases pending with joint verification committees.

The meeting was also attended by other officers of NAB, NADRA Peshawar. It merits to mention here that NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has conducted series of inquiries against officers / officials of NADRA Peshawar for issuing CNICs to non-Pakistanis and asked NADRA authorities to take strict action against such officers as per laid down rules.
