19 Customs Intelligence officials including Irfan Javed, Mueed to record statements before NAB

KARACHI: 19 officials of Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation, Quetta including Director Irfan Javed would appear before the NAB to record their statements in smuggling case of vehicles particularly old/used trucks.

According to a letter issued by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Quetta several officers have been found to be in possession of information/evidence, which related to the commission of the said offence.

NAB Quetta has summoned to officials to record their statement before Deputy Director Waqas Rafiq along with information/record pertaining to the mechanism and personnel responsible for the transportation of vehicles in and out of the Farooq Bonded Warehouse; justification for the non-seizure of 26 vehicles present in the said warehouse since long before the pointation of NAB team; names of owners of said vehicles and any other information relevant to the fact in issue.

Director Customs Intelligence Quetta Irfan JAved, Deputy Director Abdul Mueed and Superintendent Fareed Ud Din will before the NAB on April 18, 2018. IOs Shabir Ahmed and Bashir Tabbasum, WO Shoib Nawaz, LDCs Salar, Zohaib, Khurram, Drivers Najeeb Ullah and Ravi Bhatti will record their statements on April 17, 2018.

Sepoys Baz Mohmmad, Ghulam Abbas, Zubair, Aurungzeb, Khan Mohammad, Waqar, Noor-ud-din and Naseebullah will appear before NAB on April 16, 2018.

NAB has warned the staff of Directorate of Customs Intelligence Quetta that failing to comply with the NAB’s directives might entail penal consequences.
