NAB to accelerate drive to recover outstanding dues from electricity defaulters

MULTAN: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Multan Director General Brig (r) Farooq Naser Awan has directed his staff to disconnect electricity of all defaulters and provide details of the properties owned by them.

He was addressing a special meeting attended by directors, additional directors, investigation officers, superintendent engineers and executive Engineers of MEPCO circle offices of Rahim Yar Khan and Bahawalnagar.

The Director General also directed the officials to correct wrong and exaggerated bills. He also said that any MEPCO official found involved in malpractices will be taken to task.

Earlier, superintending engineer MEPCO Rahim Yar KhanOffice, while briefing the default recovery position informed that they have recovered Rs 7.76 million from 41 defaulters to date, whereas 87 out of 92 untraced defaulters have been traced out through field surveys.

Syed Jawad Mansoor superintending engineer MEPCO Bahawalnagar while briefing the default recovery position informed that they have recovered Rs 0.559 Million from 41 defaulters to date, whereas 41 out of 41 defaulters have been traced out through field surveys.
