NAB to grab former PM Ashraf on favoring son-in-law

ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervez Ashraf as he has appointed  his son-in-law Azim-ul-Haq to the World Bank and violated the rules and regulations by misusing his authorities.

The NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry decided in an executive board meeting (EBM) to file corruption references in the concerned Accountability Courts.

The NAB also decided to file a reference against Mola Bux Awan the ex-acting secretary of Ministry of Housing and Works along with Gulab Zameer, Director General Pak PWD on their involvement in appointment of 746 people in violation of rules and regulations.

The board also decided to file a reference against Ex-Chairman Employees Old Age Benefits Institute (EOBI), Zafar Iqbal Gondal as he allegedly made illegal appointments during his tenure causing Rs 600 million losses to national exchequer.
