ISLAMABAD: Naeem Hassan, an Inland Revenue Service officer of BS-18), has been dismissed over corruption.
The competent authority dismissed Naeem Hassan under Rules 3(a),(b) and (c) of the Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973.
As per details, the investigation was initiated on the basis of a complaint received from Director General (I&I-IR), Islamabad on charges of inefficiency, misconduct & corruption. Ghazala Hameed Razi, Additional Commissioner-IR, RTO, Lahore was appointed as Inquiry Officer who submitted her inquiry report dated April 24.
The Authority i.e. Secretary Revenue Division / Chairman FBR examined the relevant record, gone through the defence of the accused officer including his written reply and also heard his stance during the personal hearing was convinced that the charges of “inefficiency”, “misconduct” & “corruption” stand established against the accused officer beyond any doubt. He is found guilty of causing massive loss of revenue to the national exchequer on account of his criminal neglect of duty, misconduct and corruption.
The Secretary Revenue Division/Chairman FBR, being Authority in the case, imposed the major penalty of “Dismissal from Service” under sub clause (iv) of clause (b) of sub rule (1) of Rule 4 of Government Servants (E&D) Rules, 1973 upon Naeem Hassan with immediate effect.
However, the officer will have a right to appeal to the Appellate Authority under Civil Servants (Appeal) Rules, 1977 within a period of 30 days from the date of communication of this notification.
