Need to bridge gap between taxpayers, tax officials stressed

LAHORE: Mohsin Nadeem, the newly elected president of the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA), has said that there is need to bridge gap between taxpayers and the government.

He made these remarks  while addressing a reception held in the honour of the newly elected office bearers of the PTBA.

PTBA Senior Vice President Jamil Akhatar Baig, Vice President Mohsin Virk, General Secretary Abdul Qadoos Mughal and LTBA President Munsha Sukhera, General Secretary Ch Qamar Uz Zaman and other members were present on the occasion.

The PTBA president said that the PTBA members have vested their trust in the newly elected body and we will go to every length to resolve the issues and bring professional comforts to the members.

He added that a number of differences have been brought to light between the taxpayers and the tax collectors and the tax lawyers are determined to remove these differences to pave the way for a conducive atmosphere where tax culture could flourish.

The LTBA general secretary, while welcoming the newly elected PTBA leadership, said that the new leadership has been elected by the members due to its devotion to serve the legal fraternity and visionary approach.

He hoped that the new PTBA leadership will work to promote tax culture and strengthen the tax practitioners’ professional.
