LONDON: The Lexus NX 4×4 range is expanding to include a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol model.
Called the NX200t, it will be sold alongside the existing NX300h hybrid, and is the first Lexus to get this new 235bhp engine.
The NX200t will be available only in the sportiest F Sport trim, and averages 35.8mpg and 183g/km of CO2 in official EU tests.
The equivalent hybrid manages 54.3mpg and 121g/km, plus it’s cheaper than the new 2.0-litre turbo model, undercutting it by £1,100.
Instead of greater economy or affordability, the 200t will be sold on its performance; it can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.1sec – 2.1sec quicker than the hybrid.
The NX200t is available to order now, with first deliveries scheduled for mid-March.
