New tracking company for Afghan transit goods to be chosen soon

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has stepped forward to make Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade cargo more secure and reachable anytime and anywhere on the route.

According to the sources in Directorate General of Afghan Transit Trade, TPL Trakker Ltd will no longer be delivering GPS and satellite tracking efficient solutions for day to day operations of the Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade cargo.

The FBR has already floated a tender for which five to six companies have submitted their bids as TPL Trakker Ltd system is not perfect in providing right location of vehicles of bonded carrier, source added.

The source also informed that National Logistics Cell (NLC) has also given a bid and is seemed favourite among other companies with regards to the bid. The decision of choosing the company for tracking of the Afghan Pakistan Transit Trade cargo will be taken after the new budget.

The FBR decided to install the tracking system of TPL Trakker Ltd after the country’s mega scandal of missing containers.
