North Region Chief, GB Collector updated traders on WeBOC before its launch

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Chief Collector, Customs North, and Collector Gilgit-Baltistan held special meetings with all the chambers and traders and briefed them about the WeBOC before launching it at Sost.

This system will be helpful for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan to make their business more better. The WeBoc at Sost Dry Port runs the trade between Pakistan and China through Khunjrab.
According to details given by Ali Asad, Assistant Collector, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) told Customs Today that this press release has been issued with reference to the news published in different dailies on 12-04-2018 regarding the run of the WeBOC (Web based one Customs) at the NLC Dry Port Sost and its consequence on the trade happening through Pakistan and China border at Khunjrab.
He explained that the WeBOC is the automated customs clearing system operating at all the customs stations in Pakistan and, before launching it formally at Sost, the Chief Collector, North Region, and Collector GB held various meetings with the business community of the GB and briefed them about the system under talk. Since the running of the WeBOC system at the Sost at the start of the season, numerous awareness seminars have been held to inform the traders of the benefits offered by the system to the government and the traders.
Ali Asad told CT that continuous sessions of training of traders to train traders regarding its applications and Customs service Center have also been established to assist the traders regarding Goods Declaration (GD) filing and other allied matters throughout its operations. Ali added that the running of the WeBOC will not only make the trade through Pak-China border easy but also align the Sost Dry Port with all the modern infrastructure existing all over Pakistan.
Assistant Collector GB told CT that, with the help of Special Communication Organization (SCO), the state-of-the-art fiber optic has been laid down to provide an uninterrupted communication internet service to all the stakeholders by Khunjrab Border. He added that it is further expounded for general awareness that the same traders and agents, transacting at the Sost Dry Port, use the WeBOC system at all other customs stations for clearing their goods, and the Sost Dry Port is indeed is no exception.
The GB is fully geared to extend full facilitation to all the genuine traders, NLC, SCO and National Bank of Pakistan which are fully motivated and trained to run the WeBOC for the greater good of our country.
