Notice served in smuggled Toyota Land Cruiser’s case

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Additional Collector Beelam ur Ramzan has issued a show cause notice to a suspect in a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser’s case involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1.297.

As per details, Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Jhang intercepted a used Toyota Land Cruiser Prado bearing Registration No LWC- 4034 near Sial Mor Jhang Road, Faisalabad.

The team asked the owner named Muhammad Irfan to show documents regarding legal import of the Toyota Land Cruiser but he could not produce the same.

Therefore, the officials impounded the vehicle under customs laws and forwarded case to Customs Adjudication for further legal action.

Now, Additional Collector Beelam issued Show notice to the accused person on the violation of Section 10-A. 89(1) and 156(1) of the Customs Act, 1969.

The adjudication authority also directed ASO Deputy Collector Muhammad Rizwan khan to attend the hearing on schedule date along with relevant record.
