Offender truck laden with smuggled cloth impounded

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate seized huge quantity of smuggled foreign origin cloth, besides impounding a truck being used for the transportation of smuggled items during an action.

As per details, a mobile squad of customs was on its routine checking when it intercepted a Mazda truck coming from Peshawar and carried out checking, which led to the recovery of foreign origin cloth.

The officials asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the cloth but he could not do the same; therefore, the officials confiscated the cloth and offender vehicle under the customs laws.

The officials informed that actual prices of the seized items will be determined later, adding that a case has been lodged against the alleged driver.
