Oklahoma Cherokee nation helps improve communities pay the state over $800m in revenue

OKLAHOMA: Oklahoma would be better off if they put funds toward education and health care rather than tax cuts. That was the blunt assessment by Chuck Hoskin Jr., Cherokee Nation secretary of state, during his address to the American Indian Chamber of Commerce.

Native Americans have made a positive impact on the state that might otherwise be in worse financial condition than it now is, he said. The Cherokee Nation has helped improve communities by improving the infrastructure, improving school facilities and, to date, paying the state more than $800 million in revenue
