MUSCAT: Oman’s MSM30 has down by 0.31 percent to close at 6,599.15 points and MSM Sharia Index decreased by 0.30 per cent to close at 996.76 points.
Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume as well as turnover. The top gainer of the day was Al Jazeera Services, up by 1.01 per cent, while National Aluminium Products, down by 5.41 per cent, was the top loser of the day.
A total number of 797 trades were executed during the day’s trading session generating turnover of OMR3.39 million with more than 10.43 million shares changing hands. Out of 43 traded stocks, five advanced, 17 declined and 21 remained unchanged. At the session close, Omani investors were net buyers for OMR339,000 followed by GCC & Arab Investors for OMR149,000 while Foreign Investors were net sellers for OMR489,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index ended the day at 8,213.74 points, down by 0.35 per cent. Gulf Investment Services, Al Anwar Holding, Bank Nizwa, Al Madina Takaful and Oman & Emirates Holding decreased by 1.69 per cent, 1.50 per cent, 1.12 per cent, 1.10 per cent and 0.71 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index declined by 0.52 per cent to close at 8,671.77 points. National Aluminium Products, Al Hassan Engineering, Al Maha Ceramics, Gulf International Chemicals and Al Jazeera Steel decreased by 5.41 per cent, 2.31 per cent, 1.31 per cent, 1.26 per cent and 1.11 per cent respectively.
Services Sector Index closed at 3,584.84 points, a loss of 0.19 per cent. Al Jazeera Services, Port Services, Al Suwadi Power and National Gas increased by 1.01 per cent, 0.65 per cent, 0.55 per cent and 0.37 per cent respectively. Ooredoo, Renaissance Services and Omantel declined by 1.11 per cent, 0.86 per cent and 0.28 per cent respectively.
