ONO issued against M/s Macca Impex for Rs 91,123 taxes/duties evasion

KARACHI: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I Deputy Collector Moeen Afzal Ali has issued an Order-in-Original (ONO) against M/s Macca Impex for evading duties/taxes to the tune of Rs 91,123. Moreover, a penalty of Rs 10,000 is also imposed on the importer.

Hearing in this case has been fixed for April 14, 2016, April 28, 2016 and May 10, 2016. However, no one appeared for hearing from importer side and Habibur Rehman and Mehmoob Dawood Vohra, Appraising Officers PCA appeared for hearing and defended the charges leveled in the show cause notice.

The officers went through the record, saying as per SRO 1125(I)/2011, the different slabs of sales tax are chargeable from the different category of importers as prescribed by federal government.
