KARACHI: The Karachi Stock Market Wednesday took a good start by gaining 116.03 points to reach 35662.06 points level, with the volume of 5,161,600 shares.
On Tuesday, the KSE-100 index lost 42 points and dropped to 35,546 index level after terror attack in Karachi, which left an MQM leader critically injured and shook investors’ confidence.
Positivity in the first half was led by the auto and the pharmaceutical sectors, with major gainers being SEARL up 3.1pc, ABOT rose 0.9pc and INDU appreciated 0.5pc respectively. Bullish momentum was witnessed in the cement sector as international coal prices dropped to a 7-year low.
