KARACHI: Pakistan and China will launch Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) for monitoring the economic corridor consisting of 2,442 km from Gwadar to Kashgar.
According to the source, Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) will not only be monitoring but will also be keeping eye on border crossing, smuggling from borders as well as terrorist activities.
Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) has also started procuring the Consultancy and Technical Services for Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1), which is a high-resolution electro optical remote sensing low-earth orbit (LEO) satellite.
The agreement signed between Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and China Great Wall Industry Cooperation (CGWIC) to launch Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) will cover both Pakistan and China land, sea and air boarders.
Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) will also be used to face the disasters situation like flood forecasting and damage assessment.
Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS-1) Satellite will be launched in June 2018 which will also be helpful to ensure the completion of development projects in scientific ways, source added.
