KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee recouped on Thursday against the US currency in interbank and remained firm in open market.
As per the local money market, the dollar lost 65 in interbank for buying at 110 and five paisas for selling at 110.80, while in open market, the greenback remained unchanged in for buying at 110.75 and for selling at 111.05.
On Wednesday, the greenback remained strong in value versus domestic unit in interbank and in open market transaction. After appreciating by 60 paisas during intraday trading, dollar further gained paisas 10 and closed at Rs 110.65 for buying and Rs 110.85 for selling versus rupee in interbank.
In kerb market, greenback stood firm in value by 75 paisas versus rupee to close at Rs 110.75 for buying and at Rs 111.05 for selling.
The State Bank of Pakistan has maintained that the slide in the rupee’s value is due to supply and demand dynamics of foreign exchange in the interbank market.
