Pakistan Customs decides to cancel inactive licenses of clearing agents

SIALKOT: The Pakistan Customs has decided to cancel inactive licenses of the customs clearing agents those are not working for last ten years.

Officials said that many agents after gaining licenses were not working in the field and not paying the renewable fee for the license to customs department. They added that department was examining the record of the clearing agent in order to trace the inactive agents. The inactive clearing agents will be removed from the customs data after making the lists of the inactive licenses.

They also added that license will be issued to only those who will get training from the customs training institute for the customs clearing agents. The department will not issue licenses to any person on the recommendation of political figure, they said, adding that all licenses will be issued on merit in future.
