Pakistan remittances surge 20.2pc to $4.3b in May 2026

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan received workers’ remittances worth $4.3 billion in May 2026, showing strong growth in inflows, according to official data.

On a month-on-month basis, remittances increased by 20.2 percent, while on a year-on-year basis they rose by 15.4 percent, reflecting a continued upward trend in overseas inflows.

During the period from July to May of FY26, total workers’ remittances reached $38.1 billion, compared to $34.9 billion recorded in the same period last year, marking an overall increase of 9.2 percent.

In May 2026, the largest contributions came from Saudi Arabia with $1,025 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $1,006.6 million, the United Kingdom with $645.5 million, and the United States of America with $349.8 million.
