Pakistan’s weekly inflation declines 0.06pc

ISLAMABAD:  The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) based weekly inflation for the week ended on January 20, for the combined consumption group, witnessed decrease of 0.06 percent as compared to the previous week, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

The Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS) has released weekly inflation figures showing that the overall inflation rate remained at 19.36 per cent and for the low-income earners it was 20.85 per cent.

According to the statistics, the price of tomatoes has gone up by Rs15.69 per kg to Rs60.18 per kg, garlic by Rs10.95 per kg, lentils by Rs2.44 per kg and beef by Rs9.26 per kg and mutton price increased by Rs 17 per kg.

According to statistics, a 20 kg bag of flour has gone up by Rs 3.12 per kg, diesel by Rs 2.98 per liter, petrol by Rs 3.1 per liter, while the prices of 7 essential items dropped in one week.

According to the statistics, chicken prices decrease by Rs 15.71 per kg, onion by Rs 1.88 per kg, potato by 81 paisa per kg, eggs by Rs 2.98 per kg in a week, sugar by 36 paisa per week. The price of sugar has come down to Rs 92.22 per kg, while the prices of 20 essential commodities have remained stable in recent weeks.
