PCA detects tax evasion of Rs 2.3 m by M/s Sabeen Traders

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Karachi has detected short payment of Rs 2.3 million by M/s Sabeen Traders. The PCA also directed the management of the company to deposit the amount along with fine.

According to details M/s Sabeen Traders imported consignments of food essence through their clearing agent M/s Ghafoor International from March 2015 to December 2015. The company use undue benefits and concessions through import of these consignments and caused a loss of Rs 2.3 million to the national kitty.

During scrutiny of import documents by Post Clearance Audit authorities it was revealed that company availed undue and unjustified benefits by using different PCT heading and avoided to pay taxes and duties willfully. After detecting the tax evasion PCA directs the management of M/s Sabeen Traders to deposit the short payment alongwith fine of Rs 155,000 within seven days, failing led to stern action.
