PCA detects tax evasion of Rs 2.4m by M/s Sudaba Manufacturing Industry

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) authorities has detected tax evasion of Rs 2.4 million by M/s Sudaba Manufacturing Industries.

Sources told Customs Today that M/s Sudaba Manufacturing Industry availed undue benefits and concessions through import of raw material which is being used for manufacturing of rubber. Sources said that during scrutiny of import data by the company, it was revealed that M/s Sudaba Industries imported ten consignments of raw material through SRO 566 and used wrong PCT headlines.

The company evaded tax and duty amounting to Rs2.4 million during import of these consignments and caused a loss to national kitty. After detecting tax evasion PCA authorities imposed Rs96,000 as penalty on the above said company. PCA authorities directed the management of M/s Sudaba Manufacturing Industries to deposit evaded tax amount of Rs2.4 million along with penalty of Rs96,000 within seven days otherwise stern action will be taken against the company.
