PCA detects tax evasion of Rs 9.6m by M/s Mohsin Associates

KARACHI: Directorate of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) has detected tax evasion and short payment of Rs 9.6 million allegedly by M/s Mohsin Associates. The PCA also imposed penalty on the company.

Sources informed Customs Today that during scrutiny of import data it was revealed that Mohsin Associates imported 17 consignments of steel wheel plates through clearing agent Javed Traders from March 2014 to April 2016. The company also availed undue benefits and concessions by using PCT heading and caused a loss of Rs 9.6 million to the national kitty.

Post Clearance Department detected tax evasion and directed the management of M/s Mohsin Associates to clear outstanding amount in seven days failing which stern action will be taken against the company. It is necessary to mention here that PCA authorities also imposed a penalty of Rs2,76,000 on Mohsin Associates. Directorate of Post Clearance Audit is clearing all the pending cases as current fiscal year is going to end.
