DUBAI: During this year’s GITEX, Dubai Customs’ stand at Sheikh Saeed Hall (#4) was a real magnet of lights and attention of inquisitive visitors. All visitors expressed their admiration of the wide array of showcased innovations introduced by DC to steadfast its customs work, whether in the Amphibious Vehicle which is fully geared up with (10) solar powered gadgets enabling it to run uninterrupted around the clock, or in the Customs Unmanned Submarine for tactical underwater inspection operations of ships hulls’.

The Smart Baggage Inspection system created a notable wow effect to all inquirers, as it represents an innovative multifunctional integrated design aimed at ensuring a streamlined passengers flow while maintaining the epitome of protection at same time; the device is capable of scanning handheld baggage in a seamless real-time procedure.

Visitors as well were introduced to the new cutting edge web platform of Dubai Customs and the internal discussion forum (Al Barza); an in-house developed platform for bringing DC employees together as they can share ideas, cascade experiences and resolve work concerns in an interactive high-spirit electronic platform.

The Smart Workplace and Smart T.V creations were also introduced for the first time at the exhibition as an addition to DC smart services.  Dubai Customs has always reserved its prominent spot in this exhibition, but this year’s participation was different by collaborating with, Trakhees, DP World, Dubai Maritime City Authority and Dubai trade in a joint pavilion  representing Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) and under a unified motto ‘ We Innovate … to Facilitate trade’.

In order to get a closer perspective on visitors feedback, DC provided them with tablets in order to for them to voice their opinion about Customs and attend to their needs, requests and suggestions. This option is also available online throughout DC’s website and its Smart Watches powered platform

The move comes in line with DC’s approach in seeking to engage clients at all levels of development in order to provide them with the best customer-tailored services.

This year’s participation aims to give the public an enriching and rewarding experience by providing a wide array of worthy prizes to interacting visitors on a daily raffle.
