KARACHI: The Pakistan Coast Guard has foiled a bid to ferry a huge quantity of arms and ammunition at Superhighway.
According to PCG spokesman Major Zafar, special mobile teams were formed to foil attempts to smuggle arms and ammunition through Super Highway.
During the process of snap checking, a suspected vehicle was also observed. The PCG officials chased the vehicle but driver managed to escape, abandoning a fertilizer sack on the road side. After searching of the sack, PCG officials recovered o7x pistols (30 bore)02 X repeaters (12 bore)and 300x rounds of different calibers from the sack. The officials have confiscated the arms and ammunition which were was likely to be used in Karachi city for different terrorist activities.
