DUNSEITH: U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations has a new leader of its Pembina Port of Entry in northeastern North Dakota. Jason Schmelz will take over command of the agency during a ceremony Thursday at the International Peace Garden in Dunseith.
Schmelz has been serving as area port director. The Pembina Border Control Station was first established in 1924. It covers 102 miles of U.S.-Canada border in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
