ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Ex-servicemen Association (PESA) has lauded of Chinese President Xi’s visit to Pakistan and $46 billion worth of economic agreements signed during his tour.
The association said that the huge investment will lift economy and strengthen Pakistan’s geo-strategic importance in the region. These views were expressed in a PESA meeting chaired by its Senior Vice President Vice Admiral (R) Ahmad Tasnim, while Admiral (R) Fasih Bokhari, Air Marshal (R) Masood Akhtar, Lt Gen (R) Naeem Akbar, Maj Gen(R) Sabih Bikhari, (Lahore Chapter) Brig (R) Mian Mahmud, Salim Nawaz Gandapur, Brig (R) Abdus Salam Akhtar, Nawaz Ali, Brig (R) Simon Sharaf and Brig (R) Masud ul Hassan were also present. Brig (R) Agha Gul of Balochistan Chapter was available online.
PESA also appreciated introduction of electricity through solar power. It is, however, feared that the technology adopted is fast getting obsolete. Investments are now being made for using Concentrated Solar Power system that generates electric power by using solar heat to run steam turbines for solar-gas hybrid power plants that can produce electricity for 24 hours.
