Peshawar ASO confiscates smuggled items worth Rs 15 million

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Customs Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) Peshawar seized smuggled goods worth Rs 15 millions in different operations.

Customs officials informed Customs Today that the Anti-Smuggling Organization conducted various operations to curb the smuggling bids and seized smuggled cigarettes, LEDs, LCDs, air conditioners, besides impounding smuggled vehicles worth Rs 15 million.

As per detail, ASO intercepted a container near Hayatabad area of Peshawar and recovered electronic items worth Rs 10 million and asked the driver to produce legal documents regarding the import of items but he could not produce any documents on which ASO seized the items.

Talking to Customs Today the ASO Deputy Collector Ubaid Ullah said that department was taking effective measures to swoop down the smuggling and smugglers both in the region.
