Peshawar ASO impounds 32 offending, 17 non-duty paid vehicles in FY 2016-17

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) Peshawar seized 32 offending vehicles and 17 non-duty paid vehicles during first quarter (July-September) of financial year 2016-17. The value of impounded vehicles is Rs 22.8 million.

Additional Collector Customs Collectorate Peshawar Fazle Samad told Customs Today that during the first quarter of the current financial year, the ASO impounded offending vehicles less in quantity as compared to the same period of the financial year 2015-16.

He said that during corresponding year from July to September FY2015-16 the ASO seized 51 offending and 15 NDP vehicles under value of Rs.39.4 million, he said that due to new strategy approved by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) the trend of smuggling and NDP vehicles were discouraged.

He added that due to new strategy regarding NDP vehicles ASO teams are showing outstanding performance and using all resources to impound non duty paid vehicles.

He said that Collector Qurban Ali Khan made appreciation call to ASO staff for made crack down against offending and non duty paid vehicle the additional collector concluded as saying.
