Peshawar customs at Bacha Khan International Airport generate Rs5.09m revenue

ISLAMABAD: The Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar (BKIAP) collected revenue of Rs5.09 million in head of all duties and taxes during first 15 day of January of financial year (FY) 2016-17.

According to details, during the first 15 days, customs staff deployed at the BKIAP collected revenue Rs1.40 million under head of customs duty whereas under head of various surcharge and duty the customs department collected revenue Rs0.27 million and under head of redemption duty on imports customs collected revenue Rs0.03 million.

Sources said that under head of total sales tax revenue of Rs1.67 million was collected, under head of sales tax on imports revenue of Rs1.67 million was collected adding that under head of additional income tax revenue of Rs1.53 million was generated.

During the above said period the customs staff at the BKIAP collected revenue of Rs6.56 million under head of all duty taxes, Rs1.68 million under head of customs duty,

The customs staff at the BKIAP during first 15 days of December of FY2016-17 collected Rs0.30 million under head of various duty and taxes, Rs0.35 million under head of redemption duty on imports, Rs2.40 million under head of sales tax, Rs0.17 million under head of sales tax on imports and Rs1.66 million under head of additional income tax.

The customs BKIAP staff said that they are optimistic about surpassing the target revenue amount for the month of January of FY2016-17.
