PESHAWAR: The Collectorate of Customs has collected Rs1524.41 million revenue in 20 days of November in current Fiscal Year 2017-17.
Sources told Customs Today that model Customs Collectorate collected Rs 652.76 million under the head of customs duty (CD) during the first 20 days of November which has been increased against the revenue collection made up to 20th November of previous Fiscal Year 2016-17.
Sources told that MCC Peshawar generated revenue of Rs365.92 million under the head of sales tax in 20 days of November which has been more than the amount generated during past two previous years.
An amount of Rs 45.3 million has been generated under the head of sales tax on VM imports While Rs 118.85 million has been collected under the head of sales tax on VM palm oil in 20 days of November during current FY 2017-18.
The Collector Customs told that the collection of revenue has been tremendously increased due to expanded tax policies applied by FBR.
The increase in Regulatory Duty also led to earn extra revenue collection in current month. An amount of Rs 328.13 million have been added by collection of AIT in which Rs 259.68 million have been collected as AIT and Rs 61.78 million revenue has been collected by AIT Export.
The MCC Peshawar collected an amount of Rs 13.80 million under the head of federal excise duty in 20 days of November.
The Collector told that Customs House have also impounded NDP items worth millions in the current month along a number of raids conducted by anti smuggling wing of Customs House to trace down the trade of smuggling.
The Collector Customs Gul Rahman appreciated the performance of Customs officials and also directed them to sustain the good duty work till the end of the month in order to collect handsome revenue for Pakistan Customs exchequer.
