Peshawar Customs collects Rs19244.34m during May

PESHAWAR:  The Custom Collectorate surpassed all the targets and generated handsome revenue of Rs19244.34 million in May 2018 against collection of Rs16607 million of the previous year

According to statistical officer, the Customs Collectorate collected Rs7674.43 million under head of customs duty against Rs6127.70 million with difference of Rs1546.73 million or 23.16 percent.

Under head of sale tax on import, the house collected Rs6726.62 million against previous year same month May 2017 which was Rs4091.12 million having difference of Rs671.50 million or 16.41 percent.

Similarly under head of sale tax and federal excise duty (FED), the house collected Rs1921.0 million against Rs1650.85 million of the previous year, having difference of Rs270.15 million or Rs16.36 million.

In lieu of sale tax on value addition on commercial importers, the house collected Rs78.39 million against Rs71.22 million of the previous May 2017, having difference of Rs7.17 million while the difference in percentage was 10.07 percent.

Under head of federal excise duty the house collected Rs17.02 million against Rs15.27 million of the previous May of 2017. The difference in rupees was 1.75 million while the difference in percentage was minus Rs20.27 million.

Except withholding duty, the performance of the house was satisfactory in collection of all duties and taxes and generated handsome revenue for national kitty.
