Peshawar Customs foils bid to smuggle 600 non-duty paid mobile phones

PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs team foiled a major bid of non-customs paid mobile phones smuggling to Peshawar via Khyber district and seized 600 mobiles near Karkhano here the other day.

Sources informed Customs Today that Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Arsalan Subuctageen received a tip-off about smuggling of non-customs paid mobile phones. He immediately constituted a customs anti-smuggling squad. The squad cordoned off various places at entry points from District Khyber besides stepping up monitoring of unfrequented routes.

During checking of various consignments at Karkhano post, the customs team flaged down a suspected vehicle and after searching various cavities of the car, they recovered 600 mobile phones of different models.
