Peshawar Customs generates Rs127.57m through auction of smuggled goods, vehicles

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Peshawar auction cell collected revenue of Rs127.57 million through public auctions of seized goods and vehicles during 2nd quarter (October-December) of Financial Year2016-17.

According to details, during 2nd quarter of FY2016-17 the auction cell collected handsome revenue by auctions of non duty paid vehicles and smuggled goods adding that the customs stations which falls under the jurisdiction of MCC Peshawar includes Kohat division and Customs Intelligence Peshawar held auctions of smuggled goods and vehicles separately but all the revenue collection transferred in the account of MCC Peshawar at the end.

Sources said that during the above said period MCC Peshawar collected revenue of Rs73.42 million, the Kohat division auction cell collected revenue of Rs31.79 million and Customs Intelligence and Investigation collected revenue of Rs22.36 million through auctions.

Sources said that customs collectorate already expedited their efforts to collect outstanding amount from defaulters.
