ISLAMABAD: The Peshawar Customs has generated Rs 46.96 during the first quarter of the current financial year (July-September) 2016-17 through auction of smuggled goods.
Deputy Collector Muhammad Zakir told Customs Today that the performance of Peshawar Customs’ auction cell remained satisfactory during the first quarter of the financial year.
He said that through auction of goods, the collectorate manager to bag a handsome amount of revenue that would help a lot in meeting the annual target of the collectorate. He said that during the month of July, the collectorate collected revenue amounting to Rs 10.21 million through auction of goods. He said that this was a marginable amount, because the first month was always considered as a relaxed month when it comes to revenue collection.
He said that during the month of August, the auction cell manager to collect an amount of Rs 14.60 million. He said that the auction cell accelerated its pace of working during the month of September and collected Rs 22.15 million.
He said that with the guidance of Peshawar Collector Qurban Ali Khan, the auction cell was working efficiently and collection a handsome amount, especially through the auction of goods. He hoped to collect satisfactory revenue during the rest of the months of the current financial year.
