Peshawar Customs recovers smuggled cloth, generators

KARACHI: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized a huge quantity of smuggled cloth and generators during a crackdown in Qisa Khawani Bazar. The market value of the seized goods is Rs 3.8 million.

Sources informed Customs Today that the Customs authorities received information about some smuggling attempts. After receiving tip-off, a team of the ASO officials intercepted a truck near Qisa Khawani bazar and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled cloth and two generators. The ASO team seized the cloth and generators and registered a case against the accused persons. Sources said that if the prices of the truck included the entire amount stood at around Rs 10 million.
