Peshawar Customs seizes foreign origin clutch discs

PESHAWAR: Collectorate of Customs Preventive seized non-duty paid clutch discs worth Rs 5 million. The Collector Preventive lauded the enforcement activity done by Customs squad.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Preventive Asif Saeed Khan Lughmani received credible information about smuggling of auto parts. He deputed Customs Mobile Squad No.2 which recovered 330 foreign origin Aisin clutch discs.

The customs squad intercepted a vehicle bearing registration no. HRT-1958 loaded 59.5 MT mineral coal. The driver of the vehicle was Afghani.

The driver taking advantage of the strike at Torkham was on its way from Torkham without payment of duty/taxes which was intercepted by preventive staff and seized it under the relevant provisions of Customs laws.

The customs squad seized all the items and registered a case of smuggling.
