Peshawar Customs seizes narcotics of Rs3.51m near Motorway Toll Plaza

PESHAWAR: The Customs House has seized foreign origin narcotics in pursuance of prior information on Wednesday near Motorway Toll Plaza.

This was stated by Collector Customs Gul Rahman in a talk with Customs Today. The collector said that the seizure have earned a revenue of Rs 3.51 million to the collections of MCC Peshawar during the month of September FY 2017-18 and efforts are underway to further trace the team of smugglers which was revealed upon interrogation from the accused smuggler.

The Collector Customs Gul Rahman added that the Customs team were directed to take information which was received through an informer that a big quantity of drugs will be smuggled through motorway on Wednesday.

The customs mobile squad on duty made necessary arrangement in order to cut the ways of smuggler upon which the Caltus motor car was checked and drugs were recovered from the hidden slots which were made to facilitate the act of smuggling.

The Collector Customs informed Customs Today that a Suzuki Caltus bearing registration no LZM-05-8042 was intercepted for checking near Motorway Toll Plaza for which the Customs Police’s role need to be lauded.

On through search of the vehicle a marginable quantity of drugs were recovered which weight 23 kilograms of charas and 11 kilograms of opium were also recovered which were concealed in the vehicle tactfully.

The contraband goods have been seized for violation of section 6,7 and 8 of narcotics control substances Act,1997 punishable under section 9 (c ) of the act ibid.

Accused namely Saja Ul Mulk son of Bukhari Shah resident of Nowshera has been arrested on the spot and FIR No.80/2017 dated 27.09.2017 has been lodged for criminal proceeding.

The Peshawar Customs is striving to achieve the target of revenue collection assigned by the Federal Board of Revenue for the current month of FY 2017-18 for which efforts have be done and a big part of which have been reached earlier than the closure of current month.
