Peshawar dry port receives Rs1786.71million Customs Duty during eight months

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Dry Port Peshawar collected Rs1786.71million Customs Duty (CD) during July to February 2016-17. The customs duty comprises Miscellaneous Taxes and Redemption Duty (RDI) on Imports.

According to Model Customs Collectorate Peshawar, the performance of dry port was satisfactory during the initial eight months of current Financial Year 2016-17 under the head of Customs Duty.

During the month of February, the Peshawar dry port collected Rs27.31million RDI whereas it did Rs7.51million Misc Taxes. The dry port generated Rs238.08million CD, so the dry port did total CD of Rs272.90million during said period.

During the month of January, the dry port earned Rs21.0million RDI, Rs13.13million Misc Taxes whereas Rs198.54million was collected under the head of CD. In this way, the total CD collected was Rs232.67million.

The dry port received Rs258.94million Customs Duty during December whereas it did Rs237.89million under the same head during the month of November and it collected Rs196.42million under the same head during the month of October FY16-17.

During the month of September, the dry port got Rs176.47million under the head of total CD whereas it did Rs253.46million during August and the dry port collected Rs157.96million CD during the month of July FY2016-17.
