Peshawar RTO form teams to ensure compliance of amnesty tax scheme

PESHAWAR: The Regional Tax office has nominated inspection teams and assigned them targets in various areas of Peshawar to ensure compliance of the amnesty tax scheme.

Sources in RTO Peshawar informed Customs Today that the first team comprising Harood Hussain and Safeer Ahmad has been assigned the area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The second team is comprising Inspector Asmatullah and LDC Mumtaz Ali while the areas assigned to it is Bacha Khan square and surrounding areas.

The inner city of Namak Mandi and Khyber Bazar have been assigned to third team comprised of Inspector Imdad Hussain and LDC Muhammad Shoaib. The fourth team, which comprised Inspector Mohammad Ilyas and LDC Smiullah, will visit Chowk Yadgar as well as Qissa Khawani  Bazaar. The fifth team will visit Saddar and Peshawar Cantonment which comprised of Supervisor Kiramatullah and LDC Maqsood-ur-Rahman.

The sixth team will visit Anjum Ali Arshad Supervisor and Basharat Hussain LDC. They will visit Hayatabad and University Road. All the lower rank officer have been assigned special duties on various date and targeted areas to convince people on voluntary tax compliance.

It may be added that FBR has set up a control room-cum-operational room in the FBR Headquarters to coordinate activities in FBR’s field formations across Pakistan to facilitate and educate the traders about the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme which has been launched after approval of the Parliament.

The control room fitted with communication and connectivity gadgets, was made operational. A dedicated team of FBR officials has also been deputed at the control room to coordinate efforts for facilitating and educating the traders and motivating them to make full use of the Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme.

All Regional Tax Offices have already been instructed not to issue any notice to a person who becomes part of this scheme, without the approval of FBR Headquarters.

To make the scheme successful and to facilitate the traders’ community, focal persons and sub-focal persons have also been appointed in all Regional Tax Offices (RTOs) while informative and explanatory material about the scheme has also been made ready for public information.
