PIAF-Founders Alliance wins all 8 seats of Corporate Class

LAHORE: PIAF-Founders Alliance made clean sweep by winning all the 8 seats of LCCI Corporate Class for year 2013-14.

Total 742 votes were polled out of 2275 while 16 votes were rejected due to technical reasons. PIAF-Founder Alliance got 488 panel votes while the Progressive Group got 99 panel votes. PIAF-Founders Alliance candidates Babar Mahmood Chaudhry got 586, Zafar Mahmood 580, Ijaz Ahmad Mumtaz 572, Nasib Ahmad Saifi 568, Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry 567, Muhammad Saeed 562, Mian Muhammad Afzal 561, Maqsood Ahmad Butt got 541 while the Progressive Group candidates Khalid Usman got 170, Dr. Riaz Ahmed 162, Bashir Ahmed Mughal 157, Iftikhar Ahmad 140, Sh. Nasir Naseer 123, Syed Muhammad Ayub Jaffery 142, Muhammad Riaz ul Hassan 140, Ehsan Ullah 110 and independent candidate Saeed Iqbal Bhatti got 19 votes.

Mian Muzaffar Ali, Nadir Kamal Usman and Mazhar Hussain Siddiqui were the members of Election Commission.

In the second phase, polling for 7 seat of Associate Class would be held on September 24 (today). The final results will be announced on September 30 in scheduled Annual General Meeting.

Meanwhile, Chairman PIAF-Founders Alliance Mian Muhammad Ashraf and Chairman Steering Committee Mian Anjum Nisar thanked the voters for supporting Corporate Class candidates.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PIAF-Founders Alliance candidate Tahira Munir has already been elected unopposed on one seat reserved for woman.
