CALIFORNIA: A pilot is accused of smuggling more than 100 pounds of pot on a plane through Roswell.
Michael Teixeira of California was arrested on Friday after Roswell police were alerted that the pilot had not filed a flight plan with Homeland Security as required.
Responding officers say they could immediately smell the pot on the plane that was packaged in large bags the size of hay bales. Officers found 117 pounds of pot in all.
Teixeira tells them he didn’t know where it was going and only agreed to transport it because he needed money for Christmas
