Lahore: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has paid taxes worth Rs 4.24 million, including income and agriculture taxes. The tax return of the prime minister has been submitted, according to a statement issued by PM House.
According to the returns, the prime minister paid income tax worth Rs 2.28 million and Rs 1.96 million agriculture tax. Earlier, the PM was severely criticised as it was a once said that the PM paid only Rs 5,000 as tax despite the fact that he owns property worth billions of rupees in the country and abroad.
However, during an interview, he clarified that the accusation was baseless and that he had paid billion of rupees as taxes.
