Police arrest ex- governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad’s brother over bounced cheque

KARACHI: Amir-ul-Ebad, the brother of former Sindh governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad, was arrested late Thursday night here from the metropolis’ Gulistan-e-Johar area over what police said was a bounced cheque.

According to police, lawyer Tariq Niazi had filed a first information report (FIR) earlier in connection with a bounced cheque worth Rs4 million. It was over this FIR that they arrested Amir-ul-Ebad. “We are questioning suspect Amir-ul-Ebad right now,” police added.
