OAKLAND: The Port of Oakland’s Board of Port Commissioners elected a new president Thursday night who will be the first openly gay board president, Port officials said Friday.
Michael Colbruno is a former two-term board member and past chair of the Oakland Planning Commission. He was elected unanimously Thursday night and will replace Earl Hamlin who completed a one-year term as president and who remains on the board.
