Port Qasim Authority to hire maritime pilot boat to facilitate importers, exporters

KARACHI: Port Qasim Authority is going to hire a maritime pilot boat to accelerate it operations in order to facilitate importers and exporters.

According to sources of Customs Today at Operation and Maintenance, Port Qasim Authority has sought bids from local, experienced and stable firms for the pilot boat which will conduct the voyage on 18 knots.

The offering companies will be responsible for operations and maintenance and the boat must be able to conduct two hours constant voyage on 18 knots.

The pilot boat can be hired for more than 30 days in a year, firms registered with Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) SRB and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and have name in active tax payer list (APL) can apply for the boat service.

Sources at Port Qasim Authority said boats aging more than 30 years will be rejected so the companies should offer their new boats.

The bidders can apply by submitting pay order of Rs 5000 (non-refundable) with one million (refundable) as leverage money.

The pre-bid meeting will be held on May 8, 2017 at officer of Director Operation and Maintenance at 12:00 pm.

While on May 18, 2017 at officer of director Operation and Maintenance at 12:30 pm the bids will be opened in presence of bidders who wish attend the ceremony.
